Messages from the departed reach the living via humble domestic objects that once belonged to the dead, with a delay similar to light from a star reaching our sky form the past. Within the cosmos of the home, objects trigger memories and evoke feelings of a lingering presence of the lamented. My work depicts domestic objects and their curious capacity to hold the remaining radiance and tenderness of the deceased. I work with materials that have visual weight to them to ground ephemeral concepts into an artwork that is physically solid. The artworks hold ideas and feelings which are light and almost impossible to contain—similar to how the echoes of the departed can eclipse logic and time through the space of the living room.
