My February residency at Stove Works was a seminal moment in my recent artistic practice. I was incredibly lucky to be surrounded by a group of hilarious and incredibly talented arrangement of artists and writers that took me in, torn me down, and built me back up stronger. Harrison Wayne has becoming a lasting friend, and the ensuing jokes are unforgettable- I speak to him nearly daily now. I entered my Stove Works professionally frustrated, stuck in spin regarding my artistic worth and direction- my fellow residents helped me regain positive outlook and faith in my ability to create artwork that is aspirational and reflective of the joys of being an artist, skateboarder, musician, librarian or whatever.The work shown in Cosmic Connection was made during my February residency and illustrates further development and belief into my artistic practice that may not of happened without the great support of my February residency.
