Mermaid of Murk is the physical painting of a digitally-painted cover I created for ""If There's Anyone Left, Vol III,"" a speculative fiction collection that centers on marginalized voices. Elements in the painting, including the murky mermaid, are all from different short stories in the collection. This includes some ghostly worms around her head in the final piece but are not present in this physical painting--they're ghosts, after all, are often too shy to be seen.
