My paintings are meditations on the complexities of the feminine spirit and how it manifests at the intersection of the natural, man-made and psychic world. Depictions of womenoid creatures interacting with and becoming part of nature (bugs, plant-life and the cosmos) are manifested through automatic drawing techniques that are zapped from my subconscious directly onto a synthetic substrate (ie.tar paper, a petroleum based construction material) as an attempt to reckon with the reality of experiencing the foibles of life on a planet hurtling towards catastrophe.
