Philanthrophair Sign-up
Using the county fair as a model, Philanthrophair is a day-long event in the Stove Works’ courtyard taking place on April 26th. We’re bringing together 50+ Arts Organizations (and arts-supporting organizations) to one location, saturating the courtyard with good times and good work!
At the heart of Philanthrophair is the small donor. The relationship between an arts organization, artists, and our communities is reciprocal. We do what we do for them. They, in turn, fill the spaces and warm the seats at our events. There is a deep, deep satisfaction in their participation. We feel validated for it. Philanthrophair is an occasion to celebrate that gift and communicate to our small donors how much we value every cent. Through them, we may inspire others to give, too.
Each organization sets up a 10 x 10 booth to promote their ongoing and upcoming projects, communicate the programmatic impact of their gift, and solicit small recurring donations. Each organization will also design a county fair-style activity for attendees to engage in. Think dunk tank. Think bobbing for apples. Balloon darts. Sack races. There will be collaborations and performances. There will be speakers and panel discussions. There will be food! Because, we know, all of this art makes us hungry. The options are endless. The creative minds overfloweth.
This is an incredible opportunity for as many arts organizations as possible to gather in one location to promote our work, celebrate those who support us, and advocate graciously for the small gift.
The deadline to apply is February 28th. In the applications, we will also be accepting proposals for 15-minute performances, five slots are available. Collaborations will be prioritized.
BOOTH Prompt:
In the style of a county fair! Each booth will be expected to come up with an activity (Example activities) to get attendees participating in the event. This also serves as a bit of a hook and is an opportunity to speak with them about the programs you run. A captive audience!
Special programs:
In addition to booths, there will be scattered performances and events throughout the day, including a keynote speaker (TBD), a panel discussion on the importance of giving, and five performance slots for participating organizations. If your organization would like to perform, please answer the questions in the booth sign-up form. The planning committee will review all performance submissions, and preference will be given to collaborations between organizations.
