Join us for a one-day workshop where you'll dive into the world of tintype photography! This hands-on experience will introduce you to the wet plate collodion process, a popular photographic technique from the 1850s to the 1880s. In addition to learning about tintypes, you'll have the unique opportunity learn how a pinhole camera works, as well as discussing ways you can build you own with common materials. You'll then use your pinhole camera to produce beautiful photographic prints on tin. With artist-in-residence, Dan Paz, you'll work in the history of photography, experiment with traditional darkroom techniques, and create one-of-a-kind photographic imagery.
All skill levels are welcome. Bring some props to photograph, and Stove Works will provide everything you need for the workshop.
