Using Appliqué with Michelle Polissaint (Bilingual Workshop)

Learn the skills of appliqué with September resident Michelle Lisa Polissant. Through an introduction to her series comes manje and her current work, Michelle will guide participants through the process of the textile-based art and the creation of fabric-based pictures and patterns. Michelle is a Haitian-American visual artist and arts organizer based in Miami, Florida who explores the nature of human interaction through textiles and photographs. Her organizing practice is focused on overlapping art, community, and activism, and she produces community-based activations and encourages artists and community members to form collaborative relationships.
