On Friday, March 25, Anika Todd will be leading a workshop on creating monumental solar balloons. These air sculptures are made from thin black farming plastic, a material that absorbs heat and changes the pressure inside the balloon, creating a floating object. In this day-long workshop, instruction will begin with teaching the basics of pattern drafting to design a balloon; we will then choose a design as a group and construct it together. The following day, just before Open Studios and sun permitting, we will meet in the courtyard of Stove Works to fly our creation!
Feel free to come for the full day, or drop by at any point during the construction of flying to participate!
