In this workshop, we will examine how blind contour drawings act as a physical mark of inputting visual information. By challenging our eyes to only look at the subject of our drawing, judgment becomes suspended allowing for honest expression. The uninhibited lines become an authentic depiction of the viewer’s perspective. We will use blind contour drawings to slow down, observe, and engage with 52 Hertz Whale, recording our personal experiences and creating documentation that gives insight into the intimate connections of viewing works within the show.
