Join Chattanooga Organized for Action (COA) for The People’s History of Chattanooga Walking Tour; an overview of the legacy of white supremacy and anti-racist resistance in the city. It covers antebellum Chattanooga, the establishment of Jim Crow and its resistance, the violence, and arson of the late 1950s, sit-ins, civil rights demonstrations, the riots of 1971, the Klan shooting on 9th St. at MLK Blvd, the court-ordered change in government, and the modern day. The tour is based on the theme of our first set of People’s History posters.
